Hats! A rainy Sherlock Holmes event requires a durable mourning bonnet. Still serviceable after 5 years and counting. A deployed veil setting shown below. This was fun; the green velour was from a slipcover from a vintage sofa ,the moss gathered from the historic Lone Fir cemetery, skelly was from a water activated coffin from Archie McPhee’s, and the gates from an aquarium kit found in a free box in my old neighborhood. A friend had this silk as a dress that I turned into a tarot card bag and spread cloth. The remnants were turned into this 🙂 The glass jet and feathered stick pin was not the best color, but it did demonstrate a need for fluff.
